Welcome to Vitality Community Fitness

A haven for those seeking a genuine path to personal growth and well-being in a supportive environment. We believe in the transformative power of fitness, not just for the body, but for the mind and spirit as well. We foster a community that thrives on encouragement, support, growth, and shared aspirations. Unlike traditional gyms, we intentionally steer clear of fad diets and fleeting weight loss schemes.

Instead, we meet each member exactly where they are on their fitness journey, tailoring our approach to their individual levels and goals. With a team of dedicated and experienced coaches, we provide exceptional guidance, ensuring that every step you take is a step towards progress. Join us in this journey of embracing strength, celebrating growth, and fostering connections that go beyond the walls of our gym.

“The VCF community is fun, silly, supportive, accountable, they all have growth mindset, and are very inclusive.”

Kristin Kavanaugh

Our Head Coach

She/Her/They/Them

With over 30 years of athletic experience and 16 years in the gym, Kristin (she/they) is the founder and head coach of Vitality Community Fitness- the leading queer-owned group fitness gym in the New Orleans metro area. Their mission is to create an inclusive, strength-first environment where all bodies can build muscle, gain confidence, and develop sustainable fitness habits without toxic intensity culture. Over the past ten years, they’ve coached hundreds of group members and dozens of personal training clients, drawing from their knowledge in powerlifting, distance running and functional fitness competitions. Kristin blends strength training with intentional conditioning, recovery, and mindset work. They believe that long-term fitness is built on consistency, not extremes. Their coaching style is both direct and light-hearted: form is everything, and ego is best left at the door.
