January Member of the Month
In her words…
I found Vitality through a friend that knew Kristin and told me that I needed to call her right away! Kristin will know exactly what you need and she is so easy to talk too. I feel amazing! I've noticed an increase in my energy level (especially with 3 kids), my attitude/mood are now positive and I feel so much stronger.
I look forward to waking up in the mornings to start my day off right. Working out first thing in the morning, sets my day and makes me feel successful no matter what I have to face at work or with my kids.
I enjoy attending class and learning new exercises. Its incredible for me to see how much I am able to lift as compared to when I first started my journey.
I want to focus on my techniques when working with the barbell, teaching myself to slow down and focusing on a better form so I am performing the exercises more accurately. I continue to work on my confidence that I know what I am doing when I walk into the gym. I am also getting better at recognizing when its time to move on to a heavier weight.
My goal for the future is to be able to do pull-ups at least 5-10 without having to stop!
I am proud to call VBK my gym family, I look forward to seeing my morning crew. WE check in on each other when one is missing and we make sure we are registered for the next class. We encourage each other and support each other when we have conquered a particular technique or move. We clap and yell for each other. Its a positive energy like no other!
I tell people who see my social media posts (friends who know me) Vitality its a part of who I am and where I am going on this journey of health, fitness and mental well-being. Its my "ME" time where I focus on my mental wellbeing and my fitness. "My gym time" means so much to me because I do not have to share this time with my family or my kids because it allows me to put myself first.
Yay for me!!!
In Coach Kristin’s words…
Jen came into Vitality a year ago, eager to get into a workout routine and make some changes in her life. When we first met she was a hard read, even shy! As I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know her I know now she is one of the hardest working people I know, balancing the mom life, work-life, but still prioritizing her workouts, plus she has a quippy sense of humor when you catch her at the right moment.
Jen approached me about nutrition coaching after we got out of quarantine. She stayed dedicated through quarantine on zoom but sometimes that food component is the missing link between us and our goals. We have been working together on habit building and make slight and gradual changes in her diet and IT IS WORKING! Jen has already dropped over 12 pounds and has learned how to consciously make better food choices.
I really admire how hard Jen works- on herself, her relationships with her family, and the effort she puts into the gym. Jen has been very driven since day one, she is a real leader of the women in our community and I am honored to have her as this month's dedicated member. Love ya, Jen!
