February Dedicated Member
In her words…
I joined Vitality as a birthday gift to myself last summer, I originally planned on only doing one month at VBK to kickstart my fitness journey. I quickly fell in love with the gym community at VBK and became a member.
Kristin ignited a passion inside of me to become a certified personal trainer. With the encouragement of Kristin, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and get certified with NASM. I studied for six long months to pass the test. I’m so excited to be on the coaching staff here at Vitality. I love coaching and I love helping people reach their goals.
I developed a mental toughness that I didn’t know I had. Typically, when I worked out out alone it was difficult to put in as much effort as I would with someone else. At Vitality, when you do the group workout the people in your class feed off your energy. The coaches give feedback during the workout which is very helpful. I give more when I’m working out with Vitality members than I ever would working out independently. This challenge has made me stronger mentally and physically.
I learned that lifting heavy isn’t reserved just for men. I was intimidated to lift heavy at first as I didn’t want to be extremely bulky. I lift heavy now and I love feeling strong. Strict pushups and pull-ups were 2 things that I couldn’t do when I first started VBK and now I can do both and I am really proud of that.
VBK is a gym that keeps you motivated and accountable. Vitality workouts are a wonderful way to see what you’re capable of. I promise that you will leave feeling stronger than you ever thought you were. Vitality members are so fun to be around. We have a blast, no matter what time of day and who is doing what… we are positive, outgoing, and so different but we mesh well together. I can’t think of a more positive and fun environment. Constant laughter and loud music can be heard inside of gym on a regular basis .
In Coach Kristin’s Words…
I remember Amber's first class. My first impression was "Oh my quads! she is going to crush it." As soon as she got on the assault bike, I knew I was right.
Amber consistently comes in with fierceness; ready to work and improve. Getting to know her a little better I learned about her background as a coach for gymnastics. It was obvious to me at that time she was made for the health and wellness world. Her drive and sheer talent were enough to know she needed to become a part of our leadership. I encouraged her to become a certified personal trainer and wanted her to be a part of the VBK coaching staff. Amber has a passion for coaching and people and it shines through her.
Last month, Amber competed in her first fitness competition. I could not have been more proud of her performance that day. She is an excellent representation of what our gym is and strives to be each day. Amber has come such a long way since her first month of Vitality- she has been receptive and inquisitive about perfecting her form and how to become a better athlete.
This is her last month as “member” and I am beyond excited to have her transition into the VBK training staff. She has such a bright future in fitness and I look forward to mentoring her further into her career.
