In her words…
I joined vitality about 2 years ago because I was looking for a group fitness type gym after leaving a CrossFit gym in Baton Rouge. I thrive off of the group fitness environment so I decided to try a friends and family workout and fell in love with Vitality from that first workout. I also wanted to get into good shape and be able to do well on my military fitness requirements so I was hooked.
When I started my fitness journey, I was really working out to change my body and lose weight. My view of this journey and why I workout is very different now. I want to strengthen my body and continue to push it to new PRs while respecting my limits.
Working out at Vitality has helped me focus better in school and being surrounded by its members has helped me become a better human in general.
I have run 2 races with Vitality: a 5K and a 10K and did better than I expected because of the great conditioning that results from Kristin’s programing. In the future, I would like to compete in a Crossfit type competition as a Vitality team in the future. I would also continue to build new PRs for my deadlift, clean, and squat.
I am most proud of how my mental health has improved in large part by coming to Vitality. I have been able to turn fitness into a positive part of my life instead of a punishment, and I look forward to coming to the gym, not only because of the great people but also because I will always leave feeling better about myself.
Vitality is an inclusive gym that fosters mental, emotional, and physical strength for any fitness level or person. It’s a safe space and a breath of fresh air from school, work, or life in general. It's a different environment and gym culture than any place I have been before. Everyone is super welcoming, and we have become like a family. Working out at vitality is always the best part of my day.
In Coach Kristin’s words…
Brianna first joined Vitality in 2019 with a ton of enthusiasm and drive. She was a brand new Marine who showed intensity in her workout but always kept a light-hearted vibe. I've had the privilege to watch her grow into a thriving PT student and one of our heavy hitters in the gym. Brianna came into the space from a crossfit space in Baton Rouge and was eager to implement what she learned and strived to be a more advanced athlete. Brianna has seen a lot of changes throughout the years in Vitality and has ALWAYS been on board with a ton of positivity. It is rare that you will see Brianna not genuinely excited about a workout or come in with a smile on her face. She is a consistent human being who is looked up to by so many folks in our community. She will always volunteer or time and lend a hand when needed. I can go on and on about all of Bri's great qualities but my favorite of them all of how she is biggest bro in the gym. I can't imagine having it any other way. I am grateful that she is someone who represents our gym fully and is proud to be a part of it. I can't wait for the day she beats me in a workout. Love you, broski
