Why did you Join Vitality?

I was looking for a community that would motivate me to be my best and stay consistent. Ever since my first class, the energy and positive vibes have been through the roof at Vitality. It's a rare find in the fitness world - a place free of toxicity and uber-competitiveness - which I appreciate beyond belief. Now that I've found a home in the 6 am class, it's been so rewarding to work out with such a supportive group of people. I feel motivated by their successes as much as my own.

How do you feel that you've progressed/talk about the journey?

My progress and goals are ever-evolving at VBK. Truthfully, I think it is a testament to the coaching staff, workout designs and my fellow gym-mates that I have advanced so much in the past year. Training has, in many respects, cleaned up my technique more than anything. The added knowledge has led to increased efficiency throughout classes, which allows me to get the most out of every session, whether it be cardio or strength. The workouts are consistently challenging and really allow members the freedom to find their own specific rhythm for each exercise. No one has to yell at you or pressure you to push yourself, you are simply inspired by the effort of everyone around you and the belief they and the trainers have in you to reach a certain level or achieve a particular goal. And the support is daily! Progress is inevitable when you have a whole team around you, pushing you to reach deeper and work harder

What are some goals you've hit/are going for in the future?

One of my main goals when I joined was consistency, and since the gym reopened post-lockdown, I have regularly trained five days a week. This is a huge accomplishment for me, as I typically have a tendency to wax and wane in my workout regimine. Moving forward, I'd like to keep consistency as my main goal, but with that in mind I need to practice self-love when it comes to REST DAYS.

What are you most proud of when you think about your journey at VBK?

I feel physically and mentally healthy because of the work I put in at Vitality. There's really no prouder thing for me.

When you describe vitality to others how do you describe it?

When I tell people about VBK, I say it's a family. It's fun, low-pressure and welcoming. There is a space for everyone no matter their fitness level. Come sweat with us!

In Coach Kristin’s Words…

Amy brings a whole different kind of vibe into the VBK community. At jump, Amy can be a hard read. She pretty reserved and you can tell she’s got a lot rolling through her mind. She cuts through her serious vibe during morning question and even during class with perfectly timed one liners that make me and everyone laugh. When it’s 6 am it’s not easy feat to get people giggling. Amy is a leader of the morning crew. Her confidence and self-assurance are contagious. She can cut up but takes her workouts seriously and performs like an athlete even on days she might not be in the mood for it. She is a huge motivation to her peers. I want to be Amy when I grow up!

When she started with us, I could tell that she had the potential to be one of our highest performing athletes. I consistently push her to "go a little heavier" in the workout because I can see her endless ability for strength. Sometimes she pushes back or hates me for it but she is actually always down for the challenge.

Honestly, Amy is one of the coolest people I know. She motivates me to be a more confident version of myself. She's been a ride or die member for over a year now and I am very grateful that she is in our corner.
